When you can't pull the M2TS files off the camera's hard disk and import it into Final Cut, there is always an old school trick that you can resort to. Just print the footage to a DV tape and capture it from there into Final Cut.

I have just downloaded streamclip for mac but when I drag a .m2ts file over, it generates an error message to the effect that .m2ts ( AVCHD ) files are not supported by streamclip.
