… on a weblog not so far away. There was a guy (me, of course) who wrote blog entries on a more or less regular basis, but in the last few months he has become a little bit lazy in writing. So, why is that?
That’s because a lot of happenings surrounded me in the last months. I think the major one was going self-employed. That was a huge and of course a hard step for me, because I loved the company I’ve worked for almost 6 years. But things change, and so did I. Right now, I don’t regret this step. Far from it, I really love it!
Sure, there are a lot of new things I have to take care of besides my work (insurances, taxes, and so on), but for me that’s fun and it feels even better than being an employee, and most important: I know exactly what (or who) I’m working for.
So, it seems to be time to add a new “services” page to my website.

Anyway, I think people who know me were thinking that I was travelling instead of building my own business.. Erm, yes.. You’re right. I’ve been on a two weeks backpacking trip through eastern europe in September/October. For those who are interested in (and understand at least a bit of german): I’ve build a little website (using iWeb) with informations, Photos an Videos of the whole trip. By the way: many greetings to our travelmates Steve, Tom, Hillary and Devon (you can see them in this video).

So, and what about this weblog?
During the last few months I’ve focused my work most of the time on Adobe Flex combined with current video streaming technologies. I’ve built two video management and editing systems for adding captions and other stuff to FLV videos and a few other, smaller applications, so be prepared to read a lot of Flex stuff during the next months in this weblog.
